Domaine Guyon

About the producer

Having made the decision to farm organically in 2006, the wines of Jean-Pierre Guyon are perhaps not as well known as they should be, possibly because Jean-Pierre spends as much of his time as possible out in his vineyards. Returning to a more old fashioned way of working, Jean-Pierre's efforts paid off in 2012 when he was certified organic.

Using whole bunch fermentation and eschewing the use of sulphur unless he feels it is necessary, Jean-Pierre continuously experiments and carries out blind tastings so he knows exactly where the grapes are throughout the process. Another point of Guyon’s meticulous care is the use of a vertical press before the juice goes to barrel for 12 months, before racking into older wood for a final six months maturation.
