A little bit about King’s Ginger

In 1903 Berry Bros. & Rudd was famously commissioned to create a tonic for King Edward VII. Requested by the Royal Physician, it was needed to keep His Majesty warm whilst he was exposed to the elements during his morning rides in his horseless carriage. The result was The King’s Ginger, a high-strength ginger liqueur with an enticing blend of invigorating spice, honey sweetness and zesty citrus notes.

Over one hundred years later and The King’s Ginger is still breaking traditions and revivifying revellers with its inimitable spicy ginger flavour. And while splendidly uplifting served on its own, over time The King’s Ginger has become a key ingredient for curious cocktail lovers and discerning bar tenders alike.

Roy Evans, Trade Marketing Manager for The King's Ginger states: “Making and breaking tradition has been at the heart of Berry Bros. & Rudd since we started in 1698. By encouraging imbibers to enjoy a King’s & Tonic and consider it as a more colourful alternative to a traditional G&T it is the perfect serve to emulate King Edward VII’s innovative and trendsetting spirit.”

Quick and easy to create in a bar or at home, the King’s & Tonic is a delicious simple premium serve for incisive imbibers using only four ingredients served over cubed ice; The King’s Ginger, Tonic water, Angostura bitters and a garnish of orange. It is the perfect drink for social occasions
